District Offers No-Cost Summer Meal Program


Please see information below from Janice Phelan regarding a new summer meal program offered at no cost to Lee's Summit R-7 students!

STUDENTS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN NO-COST SUMMER MEAL PROGRAM

New federally-funded program offered through Lee's Summit R-7 School District:

All Lee's Summit R-7 area students are invited to participate in a no-cost summer meal program. Both breakfast and lunch will be served weekdays from June 3 through June 28 at Meadow Lane Elementary School, 1421 NE Independence Ave. Meals are served in the school cafeteria, which can be accessed from the east entrance, off the playground.

To participate, students must be age 18 or younger. Meals are served at the school, and no transportation is provided for students participating. Breakfast will be offered from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays.

The program is coordinated by the Lee's Summit R-7 Nutrition Services Department and is federally funded. For more information, contact R-7 Nutrition Services, (816) 986-2200.
